For many travelers, using third-party applications or Online Travel Agents (OTAs) is their first choice due to the sheer convenience of comparing schedules from various operators at once. Here are three popular platforms you can use:

1. Traveloka

As one of the pioneer OTAs in Southeast Asia, Traveloka provides a highly comprehensive bus and shuttle booking feature.

How to Book: Open the app, select the "Bus & Travel" menu, input your origin and destination cities, and choose your travel date. You can filter your search based on specific facilities or departure times.
Advantages: Frequently bundles promotional deals with hotel packages and features a point system (Traveloka Points) that can be redeemed for direct discounts.

2. RedBus

This platform focuses exclusively on land transportation. RedBus is highly popular because it displays detailed seat layouts.

How to Book: Input your travel route, select your preferred travel operator, and choose your vacant seat position directly from the virtual fleet map.
Advantages: Features real-time bus tracking (on select operators) and hosts transparent user reviews.

3. Tiket.com

Tiket.com offers a clean user interface and a lightning-fast transaction process.

How to Book: Select the "Transportation" icon, then choose "Travel". Input your trip details and choose from the partnered operators.
Advantages: The integrated "Blibli Tiket Rewards" program allows you to use points accumulated from online shopping to slash your travel ticket prices.

Booking Directly with the Operator: Why Is It More Profitable?

While third-party apps offer easy comparisons, learning how to book travel tickets directly with the operator (such as TRAVL’s official website) is often the open secret among smart travelers to unlock maximum benefits.

Booking directly means you completely bypass the distribution chain and extra service fees that third-party platforms might charge. Furthermore, data synchronization on the official website is far more accurate and operates in real-time.

You never have to worry about double bookings or passenger manifest data errors. Another massive perk is instant access to exclusive promotional prices that are often hidden from third-party apps, such as special tier tariffs.
